The Irving Fire Department came to talk to us about Fire Safety and to show us the tools they use to keep us safe!

Nurse Emma -- who works at Cook's Children's Hospital
She had LOTS of tools, bandaids, cotton, tape, stethoscope, syringe, thermometer, blood pressure cuff & gloves!
Nurse Emma wears gloves to keep her germs off of patients and patients germs off of her.
She showed us an adult blood pressure cuff -- she said that one for kids is a LOT smaller!
When it squeezes our arm, it checks the pressure of our heart.
The children made fire trucks in ART!

The children had to find all the pieces from numbers 1 - 10 and put the police car back together again!
Impromptu picnic lunch when we were evacuated from the building ...
It was fun to eat outside for a change!

He also talked to us about how to stay safe when we are on the internet!
Mr. Dave from Calloways Garden came to us to talk to us about gardening, plants, seeds and making the world a beautiful place!

Our HOMES this past week was Collaboration. We discussed and reflected on all the things we have learned since the beginning of school. In CREW on Friday, the children collaborated and drew their favorite things they learned so far this year!
