SHAPES

Working on drawing shapes, writing shape words and making a picture from shapes ...

Today we read The Shape of Things, and discussed how there are shapes in things we see every day. The children saw shapes in houses, boats, trains, at carnivals, and even in flying a kite! After we read the story, I gave the children Tangrams ... at first they had a hard time making pictures with the shapes - then they started coming up with GREAT ideas!

The children were then given graph paper to start planning their shape project picture.

Transferring their work from pieces to paper is hard work!

 

This is a bird -- a PHOENIX to be exact! I can't wait to see how the finished

products come out ... we will continue this project tomorrow!
